The SportsChannel network was first launched in 1976 as Cablevision Sports 3. It broadcast games from several New York-area sports teams. Its name was changed to SportsChannel New York in 1979. In the following years, it expanded to other markets, including the Bay Area and Philadelphia. It also produced the Olympics Triplecast pay-per-view service to provide additional coverage of the 1992 Summer Olympics. Its popularity grew rapidly during this time, and it was acquired by Cablevision in 1999.

Fubo Sports Network offers event coverage, news, and exclusive programming for U.S. audiences. It is the first sports channel created by the company for distribution outside of its streaming TV service. The channel will launch on additional distribution partners in July and add original programming in August. The company hopes to reach 50 million households by the end of August.
